RE: 1st Walmart stay, had a bad experience!

Rebel462, Are you aware that there is a lovely state park in Hillsboro that has a nice campground? Our farm is in Hillsboro and I am very familar with the Wal Mart you stayed at. Harry Sauner road is the shortcut to everywhere. I don't doubt it was busy all night. There are trailers parked in the lot all the time. Truckers who live near by will drop their trailer there and then drive the tractor home. Try the state park next time for a more relaxing experience. Have fun.....

RE: Retractable Ladder Mounted Clothes Dryer

We just got one of these at the Camping World outside of Indianapolis and we LOVE it!!!!! Works great. Used it the first day to dry the bath towels and worked like a champ. Well worth the money as far as I'm concerned and it folds up to fit in the storage compartment. I highly recommend it.

RE: A pickle

sfprop said it best. This is why I have never closed on a home without consulting a real estate attorney first. Somebody to be on my side during the transaction. The agent is working for the seller and the closing attorney works for the mortgage company. I want someone looking out for my interests. I'va always thought it was money well spent.

RE: Beeping car locks

I don't know how it does it, but my Infiniti just blinks it's headlights when I push the remote lock button, no beep. It will also roll down my windows if I hold the unlock button down. Really nice when it's hot out to get that blast of hot air out before I get into the car.

RE: State Sticker Map question

To me, if all we did was just pass thru it while in our motorhome it counts.

RE: Does anyone have the dimensions of the game "washers"??

Corn hole is HUGE in this area of the country. It is played by having two boards with a hole cut in them placed at a slant about 25 feet or so from each other. The two teams of two take turns throwing two bean bags each trying to go in the hole or knock you bag off the board. I'm sure whoever thought this up was drunk and the first time I heard of it I thought what idiot called this "corn hole" but go to any tailgate party especially at a Cincinnati Bengals game and there will be plenty of games going on. My point to this thread is that the bean bags make a soft plop sound where those washers go clank clank clank.

RE: Does anyone have the dimensions of the game "washers"??

I agree with Jumbo Cranium above. We were parked next to a couple who played this all day and night. CLANK CLANK CLANK! Drove me crazy. Please play corn hole instead. The bean bags are much more quiet.

RE: Non-Alcoholic Campgrounds

A previous poster suggested Little Farm by the River outside Cincinnati. It's actually in Rising Sun, Indiana and right next door to the Grand Victoria Casino. Didn't know if it would make a difference to you. It is a great campground. The sites down by the river are big and wide, better than the pond side sites.

RE: Class C MPG

We always laugh when people ask us this question. We tell them we can get almost 10 mpg going downhill with a tail wind. Really thought we get about 8 with our tow dolly attached.

RE: What are your Nicknames for your pet?

We have two dachshunds. Honey known as the "bun" and Crystal known as the "Entity". Star Trek fans will get that one from The Next Generation (the Crystaline Entity)

RE: Travel Log / Maintenance Log

I have a terrific journal I have used for 7 years. I got it from www.journalsunlimited.com. (Sorry I don't know how to make it clickable) It is one of their "Write It Down" journals. Look under full size journals, the have one for camping. They have them for boating, vacations, golfing and lots more. I love to go back and read my notes about campgrounds, scenic roads and people we met. I also note mileage, when we got an oil change and so on. I really love it.

RE: Any ideas on mystery diarrhea (update)

Did you have the vet check her pancreas? One of my doxies seemed very healthy. Very energetic, bight eyes, eveything was fine except her constant loose stool. Vet did a test and found out her pnacreas isn't working to it's full capacity. Now she gets two enzyme tablets with her food and all is well again.

RE: Whats your favorite FREE place to stay (1 night) ?

The new Camping World outside Indianapolis has a great parking lot that has places where you can plug in to get electric and a dump station. Right off I-64 it was great and free!

I have the Garmin 660 that sits in a bean bag mount on the dash. Works like a champ. Tells me where to go all the time.....

RE: dog vests

Thanks SAR tracker for the link. We have two dachshunds that are low to the ground and if they are running thru tall weeds or grasses their chest and tummy gets scratched up pretty bad. What a great tip. Thanks!

RE: outside winter storage question?

I would say just cover it. We do all the things you listed. Just put a cover over the whole thing, bungee it down and say goodbye until spring. We also put covers on the tires as our cover doesn't go all the way down to the ground and one side of the RV gets more sun that the other so I figure better safe than sorry.

RE: Ford Service

We take ours to the local Ford Commercial Truck dealer who services it just fine. They have the equipment and space to take care of these big things. Plus their hours are great. The service department is open 24 hours. Any time you drive by there you can see maybe one or two RV's parked with the commercial trucks in for service. It was explained to me that the chassis on our Class C motorhome is basically the same as alot of the box type delivery trucks, just a camper box instead of a delivery truck. Makes sense to me when you see them there side by side. So I wouldn't want the mechanic who works on passenger cars and pick up trucks to work on a chassis that he (or she) doesn't work on a regular basis.

RE: Who else has swithced?

The Kroger stores in our area pays a nickel a bag for everyone you use to bag your groceries every time you shop. I get so many free tote bags in my profession that I have a bag of bags I take every time I shop. I have been doing this for years Let's see I usually use 5 bags a week so what's that $12-13 year? I'll take it. Plus I feel better not using all those plastic bags.
